Sun Before The Snow

Sun Before The Snow

It's been a beautiful day here in Guernsey, freezing (absolutely freezing), but beautiful!

Weather like we've had today is quite rare in February, and there is talk of some more rare weather in the coming days - SNOW! February is meant to just be dull and drizzly, but we've been treated to some lovely days.

So what to do with such lovely weather on a Sunday in February? Brunch overlooking Castle Cornet, a lovely long walk along the common and a short scenic drive - best to get some warm gloves on!

Well brunch was lovely, a bit too cold to sit outside but we had a nice window seat, having eaten a little too much we hurried into the walk! L'ancresse Common is about as far from my house as you can get in Guernsey (admittedly that's not far at all - all things relative) so it's not somewhere I explore often but it's a lovely place to go and have a mooch - it's home to Dolmen, a large standing stone (a fairly new one admittedly) and lots of gorse to get lost amongst!

Our scenic drive took us the length of the island (and closer to home) to Pleinmont, in typical Guernsey style we bumped into a few friends on the way so by the time we'd reached our destination we had a full vehicle! Made for some nice photo opportunities!

In other news, I've made a few updates to the website - lots of cropping to ensure all our photos line up on different browsers (will anyone notice?), still not been able to correct the text in the FAQ page, but I have now published our page on The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society - if you haven't read the book I can recommend it!
